This summer is different from any other. All concerts, vacations and even pools have been cancelled. So, I am working on planning for next year. We have no idea how next school year will look, but the curriculum isn't changing!
I'm so excited to share one of my favorite units! The Character Wall of Fame!!!
This is a great way to kick off the school year! Students are immersed in literature that focuses on character. Each of the books allows for rich discussion and allows students to connect with the characters in the stories.
We spend 2-3 weeks digging into character traits while reading these books aloud with students.
By the end of the unit, students are expected to choose a character for our wall of fame. We just use this simple worksheet for them to explain why they chose their character!
This makes a great beginning of the year hall display and helps you get to know your students!
